Steamed Fish With Chinese Wolfberries (Qi Zi) Recipe

This Teochew confinement dish helps to enhance eye sight, dispel "wind" and improve blood circulation.

Ingredients :Traditional Chinese Teochew Confinement Food Recipe - Steamed Fish With Chinese Wolfberries (Qi Zi)
  • 1 silver promfret or snapper (about 300g)
  • 120g juliennes ginger
  • 2 tbsp Chinese wolfberries or goji berries (Qi Zi)
  • 5 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 tbsp ginger wine
Method :
  1. Heat wok with 5 tbsp sesame oil, saut� the fish until golden brown.
  2. Saut� ginger with remaining 3� tbsp sesame oil until fragrant, then remove half of the saut�ed ginger, add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil.
  3. Put in fish, Chinese wolfberries and seasoning, bring to boil again, dish out.
  4. To serve, place in a serving plate and sprinkle the saut�ed ginger on top.
