Lemongrass Chicken Soup Recipe

Not only for its lemony taste with slight hint of ginger, lemongrass is widely used in postpartum diet. Lemongrass is believed to relieve symptoms of the common cold afterbirth.

Lemongrass is known for its health benefits. This lemon-scented wondrous herbs is often associated with South East Asian cooking, and widely used as herbal and natural remedies.

Ingredients :Traditional Chinese Cantonese Confinement Food Recipe - Lemongrass Chicken Soup

  • 1 kampong chicken

  • 8 stalks lemongrass

  • 120g old ginger

  • 100g galangal

  • 1� liter water

  • Dash of salt (seasoning)


    Method :

    1. Remove head and feet of kampong chicken. Smash the lemongrass.

    2. Smash ginger and galangal and then grill with charcoal until slightly burned.

    3. Boil the water and put in all ingredients, once boiled, turn to low heat and simmer for 1 hour.
